Puget Sound Grocery Negotiations Continue

Albertsons, Fred Meyer, QFC and Safeway stores in the Puget Sound area continue to negotiate new contracts with the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) locals 21, 81 and 44. The contract covers approximately 20,000 cashiers, grocery workers and meat department employees in 254 stores in King, Kitsap, Mason, Snohomish and Thurston counties. To date, there have been 13 negotiating sessions held between the employers and union representatives. The next sessions are scheduled for July 24thand 25th.
